Selma Dritz Selma Kaderman Dritz (June 29, 1917 – September 3, 2008) was an American physician and epidemiologist who worked in San Francisco, where she began tracking the first known cases of AIDS in the early 1980s.〔(Dr. Dritz's obituary in ''The U.K. Independent'' )〕 ==Education== Dritz was born in Chicago and studied medicine at the University of Illinois and then went on to obtain an MPH (Master's degree in Public Health) at UC Berkeley School of Public Healt in 1967.
